No More Stringing Me Along (By UmmHadiyyah)

A few weeks ago, I was traveling along the Net looking for new ideas to use in my sewing area; I don’t have a room devoted only to sewing; its a shared space, so I call it an area.
As I was saying, I came across a very nice site. I Delicioused it immediately when I realized its value in my life. What I want to share with you is a cheaper version of a for sale product that is quite useful for the home seamstress.

Here is a photograph of the product. Nice right! I mean, what a great idea and how come I didn’t  think of that!
Now, the price. And here is why you need my blog. The price is $2.48 for 24 assorted colors (shipping extra). This is 10 cents per wrap. And a set of 24 with 2 of each color costs $3.98; almost 15 cents each.
Now I don’t know about you, but those bobbin wraps look suspiciously like those tiny hair elastics that I used to use in my daughter’s hair when she was two!
The price really isin’t outrageous or anything. But, you know me, I just had to see if I could beat it. And I did! With the help of Dollar Tree.
Here are my bobbin wraps:

And the price? $1 of course! For 18 hair elastics! I purchased 3 cards for a total of 54 “bobbin” wraps! Although my local DT did’nt have the baby elastics, I bought the regular sized ones and they actually work great. I have to wrap them around the bobbin a couple of times, but I really don’t mind that so much.
The beautiful part about borrowing this idea and applying it to Dollar Tree, is that I can use the left-over hair elastics on my own hair. So I saved even more money!
Don’t you just love when the Internet works in your favor!
